CONNECTING TO NATURE & MY HERITAGE

Hi, I´m Fra.

I’ve been a keen vinyasa yogi for over 10 years and always loved the sanctuary of the yoga studio and the energy of the collective. My teaching style is very theraputic and is all about making the yoga poses fit to your body.

It´s not about being Insta ready and having the straightest legs or going upside down. We´re all built completely differently - one pose doesn´t work for everyone. For me, yoga is about finding a long-term, sustainable practice that works for you and your own body.

With an anglo-indian mum and an English dad, I had a sense of the western vs. Eastern culture divide, but I’d never really explored my heritage and was skeptical about eastern medicine and wellbeing practices. In 2021, I realised that I'd been practicing yoga for a long time but I never understood the chanting, the mantras and least of all the Sanskrit. I didn’t know where yoga came from, what the yogic philosophy was and never even scratched the surface of the true meaning of the practice.

Through my own practice, I started to recognise how closely yoga is linked to the natural world. Yoga is like the ocean. The fluidity of the movement, the power of the waves that carry you to places you never knew existed. Nature is the powerful force that drives and controls us, but also connects us all in a way we don’t even realise. This powerful force was also something I recognised in yoga classes. That all of the yogis were sharing a space and it always amazed me that you could feel the energy of each individual around you - and that this energy made you feel empowered.

This was my calling - so I went to do my 200hr RYT at Lakshmi Rising in Costa Rica. I learned how yoga is not about the body, but about the connection of your mind to your body. Now, it all made sense to me. I felt the connection to my ancestors and their way of life and I realised how the western world has suppressed a lot of these beneficial practices.

Now I'm lucky enough to bring these learnings to all of you through my classes.

Yoga is like the ocean. The fluidity of the movement and the power of the waves that carry you to places you never knew existed.

I teach hatha vinyasa yoga classes to make you feel grounded and strong. I started with Zoom classes during COVID and have now taught in multiple studios across Barcelona (Brava gallery, Holistic Hub). Music and nature are a big part of my classes and I like to mix contemporary and classical music together for a electic experience. With a little bit of ecstatic dance built in, I hope you feel empowered and have fun in my classes!

I specialise in a type of vinyasa called mandala vinyasa yoga. This is a 360 yoga practice that moves in a cyclical way around the mat to channel the energy of the ancient mandala symbol. This adds a bit of fun and playfulness to the yoga practice and the moving around keeps you focused!

I would love for you to join me in my classes - please reach out to find out more.
